Squash
Squash is a racquet sport played in a four-walled court that can be played year-round by people of all ages, athletic abilities and fitness levels. Squash is a fun energetic sport that combines agility, stamina, strength, strategy, focus and mental toughness.
Playing squash is a high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout. On average players burn 750 calories per hour. A recent study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found participants in racket sports were healthier than participants in any other sport.
Squash is easy to learn and everyone can progress quickly to match play. More than 200 colleges and universities in the United States have courts. Seven of the eight Ivy League schools have a varsity squash team. Squash is growing in the United States with regular local/regional tournaments and lots of opportunities for summer enrichment.
The Cleveland Racquet Club brings together all squash enthusiasts! Our program caters to players of all ages and abilities and offers a fun, yet structured environment in which all components of the game are developed. Squash should be FUN, players that enjoy squash have the best chance of maximizing their potential and enjoying the sport for life. Good memories should be made! We teach the technical and tactical basics that are necessary for all playing styles to give our students a solid foundation. We recognize that all players are different and have their own playing personalities. We work with our students’ individualities to optimize their playing style.
The Cleveland Racquet Club is the premier squash facility in Northeast Ohio, featuring four international squash courts and one hardball doubles court. Our world-class coaching staff is dedicated to creating a vibrant squash program for both adult and junior players. The Cleveland Racquet Club hosts the PSA Cleveland Classic women’s professional squash tournament each year bringing the best women’s squash players in the world to CRC.
